Geoff’s Silver Acorn
Our CONGRATULATIONS to Geoff Ridgway (centre) for being awarded the Silver Acorn at an award ceremony on 2nd April.
The Silver Acorn award is for those who consistently go over and above in their Scouting and Geoff has certainly done that. Now aged 90, he has been in Scouting for over 70 years – all of his adult life!
A King’s Scout himself (an award he achieved back in 1951), Geoff has been a long-standing member of the 4th Worth Scout Group Executive Committee and he is also on the Crawley District Appointments Panel; responsible for meeting and interviewing prospective new leaders.
Geoff has a keen interest in the running of the group and always supports fundraising events. He’s also very in touch with our young people. His recent visit to one of our cub packs to talk about his role on the committee and his time in Scouting was a huge success! We couldn’t be more delighted that his hard work and long service have been recognised.
Well done Geoff!
